Persimmon secures permission for 527 Cornwall homes

Persimmon Homes Cornwall has secured reserved matters approval to build 527 homes in Bodmin.

This development will include 132 affordable homes, split evenly between affordable rent and shared ownership. All new homes will be constructed with air source heat pumps and EV charging points.

New parks, allotments, play areas, a community orchard, a community centre and biodiversity net gain assets will also be delivered on the site.

Persimmon is making over £3.5m in developer contributions as part of this scheme. This includes £1.5m for education, £1.5m towards transport upgrades and a new bus route, and £370,000 for new traffic lights to improve local highways.

“We’re delighted to secure planning approval from Cornwall Council for this exciting new site in Bodmin, which will deliver over 500 much-needed homes for local people,” said Andy Hill, managing director at Persimmon Homes Cornwall.

“Our plans will provide high-quality, energy-efficient homes, alongside major investment in local services and green spaces for local families to enjoy.”
